Dr. Hawass and the Ambassador of Japan, Kaoru Ishikawa, at the opening of a special exhibition displaying objects excavated by Waseda University, Japan, in Egypt between 1966 and 2006. The exhibition can be visited at the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, and among it highlights are reliefs showing Prince Khaemwaset, fourth son of Ramesses II, a recumbant lion with the cartouche of Khufu between its paws, and the vivdly painted Middle Kingdom funerary mask of Senu.
