The monuments of Egypt are the heritage of everyone around the world.

Follow-Up on Friends Select School

A few weeks ago I told you about a group of students from the Friends Select School in Philadelphia. These students had written letters to me about their studies of the Great Sphinx. Because of their hard work and their love of ancient Egypt, I invited the students to go on a personal tour of the brand new exhibit Cleopatra: The Search for Egypt’s Last Queen. This exhibit opened at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on June 5.

The students were the very first public visitors to the exhibit and I hear that they were interviewed by their local news station and the New York Times. The students and their teacher, Jessica Fazzie, were given a personal tour by Mr. Mark Lach, the designer of the Cleopatra exhibit. I was hoping to take the students through the show myself but I was unfortunately too busy in Cairo to get away.

I want to thank the students for their very nice letter about what each of them liked best about the exhibit and I hope they continue to learn more about Egypt.
