Dr. Hawass' Lecture and Interview in Indianapolis
Recently, before taking a holiday in Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to give a lecture in Indianapolis about the the secrets and mysteries of Tutankhamun's tomb. It was amazing to see that the lecture had been sold out one week before - all 2096 seats were full in the university auditorium.
At the end, there were two standing ovations, and then I spent one hour and half signing books. I had a great time, and I got to meet some really interesting fans of ancient Egypt. Everyone told me that they enjoyed my talk, and afterwards I spoke to Heritage Key's Keith Payne about the latest Egyptian news, the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and my own impending retirement.
We discussed the exciting reopening of Horemheb's wonderful tomb in the Valley of the Kings, the DNA analysis of the family of King Tut, and the SCA's continued efforts to return illegally taken treasures, like the world-famous bust of Nefertiti. I also spoke of my desire that there will soon be peace across the Middle East – something that I hope US President Obama can help with.

I was born at 1lb 10oz U of MI told my mommy I would not see, walk, talk and more.

Loved the Lecture enjoyed listening to you speak. Would have liked to have you sign one of your books but husband was feeling well enough to stand in line. Maybe next time.
